Beyond Rubber Glove Delivery

Client: MLH Worldwide (acting on behalf of an unnamed client)
Destination: Muscat, Oman
Sector: Protective Gear / Healthcare Logistics

The Challenge
In June 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, MLH Worldwide was tasked with delivering large consignments of rubber gloves. The pandemic caused widespread flight cancellations and movement restrictions, creating significant obstacles for international logistics. Furthermore, the cargo consisted of loose cartons that needed to be secured properly for transport.

The Solution
MLH Worldwide collaborated with their overseas network partner, GEFCO, and an airline representative to coordinate the delivery. Because of flight restrictions, they utilized both the cargo hold and the middle row of passenger seats on the aircraft. The team quickly printed and applied stickers to the loose cartons, performed a build-up at the airport, and securely loaded the cargo into both the designated passenger area and cargo hold.

The Impact

  • Successfully delivered the consignment to Muscat, Oman as scheduled.
  • Saved the loose cartons from potential damage during transit.
  • Demonstrated MLH Worldwide’s agility and ability to find creative logistics solutions during a global crisis.

Solar Team Twente for World Challenge 2017

Client: Solar Team Twente
Origin: Netherlands (transiting through Malaysia and Singapore)
Destination: Darwin, Australia
Sector: Automotive / Event Logistics (Solar Racing)

The Challenge
The client needed to transport solar cars from the Netherlands to Australia for the World Challenge 2017. Because direct flights were not available, their initial plan to ship via MAS Freighter from Malaysia to Darwin fell through. The client required a time-sensitive solution to trans-ship the solar cars under an ATA Carnet.

The Solution
MLH Worldwide was engaged to solve the trans-shipment issue. Working with their overseas partner, GEFCO, MLH managed the ATA Carnet from Malaysia to Singapore. They devised a solution to use Singapore as a transit point. Once the cargo arrived at the Malaysian airport, MLH immediately uploaded it onto a bonded truck and transported it to Singapore airport, where it was uplifted onto a plane bound for Darwin, Australia.

The Impact

  • Successfully transported the solar cars across multiple countries (Netherlands to Malaysia to Singapore to Australia).
  • Overcame the lack of direct flights by utilizing a bonded truck transit strategy.
  • Demonstrated MLH Worldwide’s efficiency and time-responsiveness in handling complex, time-sensitive ATA Carnet shipments.
